Advent Wreath Night

Did you light your first candle on Sunday evening?

First Sunday of Advent was this past Sunday, November 27th!
We had a great turnout for our annual Family Advent Wreath Night! It could not have happened without the hard work and the donation of time from many people!
Meg Burgess was our committee lead, and she did a fantastic job taking over this year from the outgoing committee lead, Barb Kubilius, who was kind enough to talk us through her well-established process for the event!  Michelle Walter was responsible for getting all of the tasty nut-free treats, and delicious coffee and hot chocolate!

Carrie Bullard was our fantastic emcee for the evening! She led us into the biggest change to the event this year: with the guidance of one of their teacher facilitators, Mrs. Wilson, two members of the Grade 8 Student School Council put on a small skit that explained the significance of the advent wreath.

Also in attendance, was Fr. Jim, from St. Joseph Parish, who led us in prayer, and blessed each and every wreath! And we cannot forget Mrs. Ing, our principal, who shuffled schedules in order to secure the gym for us.

And last, but not least, thank you to the families that attended the event. We would be nothing without you! We hope to see you at more events as they unfold this year, and look forward to the Family Movie night, this Friday, December 1, 2016! If you haven't already, drop us a line at stjoescscinfo@gmail.com and let us know if we can expect you!
